Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP)
Heat Pumps are suitable for most buildings and can provide an energy efficient and clean way of heating using solar energy stored in the ground.
Heat Pumps
A Ground Source Heat Pump works like this...
A Ground Source Heat Pump is a similar size to a fridge and is situated inside the building. To install the ground loops that collect the "earth energy" shallow trenches need to be excavated outside of the building in the garden or adjacent land. Heat collecting pipes are then laid in the trenches using a closed loop of poly pipe. This ground loop of poly pipe contains a water/antifreeze mix and is pumped through the pipe and back to the heat pumps compressor drawing out the stored solar energy from the earth so it can be used for space heating and domestic hot water heating. The heat pump works in a similar way to a fridge but in reverse and is as reliable. How many times in your lifetime have you had to get your fridge serviced?
Electricity is used to power a GSHP and the heat pump will typically deliver three to four times the input power. So if your were putting in 1kW of power the GSHP would be putting out 4kW of thermal energy, if you put in 3kW you would get 12kW out. To make this system a renewable energy system you would need to purchase you electricity from a Green Tariff.
Ground Source Heat Pump's have been used in the USA and Northern Europe for many years and provide a very reliable and effective heating solution compared to conventional gas and oil systems. In addition the very low maintenance costs and the life time expectancy of over twenty years make a GSHP a good heating option for homeowners and businesses.
IVT Greenline HT Plus
The IVT Greenline HT Plus is our top-of-the-range award winning heat pump. It is one step ahead of the competition in many areas and has the unique, award-winning scroll compressor from Mitsubishi Electric. The scroll compressor, which forms the heart of the heat pump, is specially designed for heat pump operation. It has dual pressure chambers and new FCM technology for the best possible performance and reliability making it the best selling heat pump in Scandinavia.
Hotter water and more of it!
With the new scroll compressor the IVT Greenline HT Plus can produce water at a temperature of 65 degrees, which means that there is hotter water for the radiators and 45 percent more hot water available. The hotter water supply to the radiators means that the IVT Greenline HT Plus is the perfect solution when a boiler with radiators designed for higher temperatures needs to be replaced. The high temperatures can be produced without the need for expensive peak electric heating!
The quietest in its class
The new technology and the high precision of the new scroll compressor means that its noise level is 3dB lower than equivalent compressors.
Multiple award winner
Mitsubishi Electric has received a number of awards for its revolutionary new technology. Now this technology is available only in IVT heat pumps, for many years to come!
A total of 31 patents
The design has a total of 31 patents which helps to ensures that the compressor is protected. No other company can manufacture and sell compressors using this technology.
Sizes
The IVT Greenline HT Plus is available in sizes from 6 to 17kW
