Heat from the Sun = Free Energy

High efficiency Thermomax & Viessmann vacuum tube or evacuated tube solar heating systems for domestic solar hot water, solar assisted underfloor heating (UFH) and solar heated swimming pools.

Thermomax DF100 High Efficiency British Solar Panels

Thermomax DF100The DF100 direct flow solar collector
It is a simpler concept than the 'heat-pipe' collector, yet has a performance efficiency considered to be exceptional. Applications include domestic and commercial hot water supply, swimming pool heating and industrial process heat.

Specially designed copper heat transfer tube
The Solamax systems consists of a copper manifold and stainless steel support with solar collectors tubes. Heat transfer from the collector plate to the insulated manifold heat exchanger is via a specially designed copper heat transfer tube, through which solar circuit fluid is circulated. The design of this tube incorporates a patented dividing strip configuration, which separates the flow and the return of circuit fluid through the solar collector tubes. The collector plate and the heat transfer tube are vacuum-sealed inside a glass tube. This provides exceptional insulation, whilst assuring perfect protection against adverse weathering influences such as humidity and pollution. High quality insulation in the manifold ensures minimal heat loss. Each system is secured to the roof by means of stainless steel fixing brackets. In the case of a flat roof, a stainless steel frame is available to fit the collector to an optimum angle.

Special construction
The special construction of this collector enables it to be fixed in any way best suited and required; on a slope, upright against a wall or horizontal on a flat roof. The clever design allows for individual solar tubes to be rotated slightly (+/- 30°) to optimise solar collection.

Two sizes of collectors are available in arrays of 20 and 30 tubes. Tubes can be adjusted to face the optimum orientation for maximum solar radiation absorption.

Thermomax - British Vacuum Tube Collectors

Thermomax HP200Thermomax HP-200 Heat Pipe System
The Thermomax solar tubes provide systems with a range of temperatures suitable to the varying requirements of the user. This can range from simple domestic hot water supply to air conditioning and sea water desalination. Further more the solar panels are British designed and manufactured making the Thermomax collector a wise choice in the current recession.

High quality materials
The Thermomax system consists of a stainless steel manifold and stainless steel support with solar collector tubes. The manifold, which has a minimal liquid capacity, is made from a high grade of 'marine quality' stainless steel and sealed in a weather resistant metal cover. The condenser of the solar tube fits inside the manifold, which carries the heating fluid. There is a thick polyurethane CFC free foam insulation between the manifold and its cover. The system is secured to the roof by means of stainless steel fixing brackets. In the case of a flat roof, a stainless steel frame is available to fit the collector to an optimum angle.

Temperature limiting vacuum tube design
Thermomax patented temperature-limiting tubes are unique. The maximum working temperature is controlled by means of a memory metal spring, which is positioned inside the heat-pipe's condenser. The memory metal is programmed to change its shape at a pre-set temperature. This allows for the condensed fluid to be retained inside the condenser. When the programmed temperature has been reached, (95*C or 130*C dependant on the model) the memory metal spring expands and pushes a plug against the neck of the 'heat-pipe' blocking the return of the condensed fluid and stopping heat transfer. At temperatures below the maximum programmed limit, the spring contracts allowing the condensed fluid to return to the lower section of the 'heat-pipe'. The fluid, due to the heat from the absorber plate, is evaporated, transferring thermal energy to the condenser. Thermomax's patented Memotron tube is state of the art technology and provides complete safety through effective temperature control.

Optimum orientation
Two sizes of collectors are available in arrays of 20 and 30 tubes. Tubes can be adjusted to face the optimum orientation for maximum solar radiation absorption. Each solar tube is a complete and an independent collector with its own heat transfer mechanism, the 'heat-pipe'.

Viessmann Vitosol 200-T Evacuated Tube Panels

Viessmann - Vitosol 200-T
Viessmann - Vitosol 200-T - Vacuum Tube CollectorThe Sol-titanium coated absorbers collect a vast amount of solar energy and thereby ensures very high efficiency. The vacuum in the evacuated tubes guarantees very effective thermal insulation. There are minimal losses between the glass pipes and absorbers and the solar collector is able to transform even a minimum of sunlight into available solar thermal heat. The vacuum tube panel looks identical to the 300-T model pictured above right.

High energy yields
You can expect high energy yields for decades to come with Viessmann solar water heating collectors because they are designed for an exceptionally long service life. This is guaranteed by the use of high-grade, corrosion resistant materials, such as glass, aluminium, copper and stainless steel. The solar absorber is integral to the vacuum tube. This protects it from weather influences and contamination, and ensures a lasting energy utilisation. The type of vacuum tube used in this collector is a U tube.

Effective use of the Sun’s heat
High performance vacuum tube collector, which can be installed in almost any position. Individual pipes can be rotated for optimum alignment with the Sun. The Vitosol 200-T is a direct flow vacuum tube collector that is ideal for installations in any location, flat on roof or mounted flat on a wall or typical roof mounting. The new sleak design of the header casing enables the Vitosol 200-T to blend harmoniously into the overall appearance of the roof.
